HistoryEdit

Concived only 254 years after Furaki Empire went out into space the Tsuki Class MkI Independent Exploration Cruiser was one of the best exploration vessels ever build, fueling exploration deep into the galaxy or into the vastness of intergalactic space in seacrh of precious antimatter. It's succesors, the Tsuki MkII IECR and Tsuki MkIII IECR countine in it's path, paving the way for GRF settlets, diplomats, traders, miners, voyagers...

Like all Tsuki MkIII the Izuki is layered with suvarbility in mind, with the key systems (power and shild generators, main computer core) and areas (command bridge, main engineering, main armory) concentrated in the center of the ship and the other systems and areas closer to in importance to ship and crew survival. Most of the ship is build with anti-boarding and damage control in mind, with corridors both easy to fortify by the defenders while still allowing damage control crews to move around easily. The ships internal security is also boosted by automated or remore control security turtrets, holographic projectors, communication jammers, energy and data connector overload safeties and other "kind" surprises for those wishing to capture the ship.

Along with the standard deck division, another division, according to behind which layer of internal armor (those are 1 m thick layers of composite material armor) the area is, exists. The Izuki has seven such areas from 0 to 6 (AKA 7 areas in total) according to the number of internal armor layers between the area and the hull, with 0 being separated only by the external armor from the darkess of space.

Like many military vessels of GRF Izuki is equiped with a simple yet effective defense for it's engine, a grid-like defensive cover sprouting on the end of the ship, allowing the engine to push the ship forward without sacrificing acceleration. This makes Izuki's engines a hard prey for most weapon systems. Since heavy weapon mounts are not protected by spaced armor they are the major weakpoints of Tsuki III. On the IIIb that was somehow bilanced by increasing the armor on the turrets and adding heavily armored hatches to the hull mounted weapons.

The damage control systems and in combat repair operations are of great importance to GRF, especially on the large and expenisve to produce IE ships. Remote controled repair and damage control drones, reserve space armor parts and training allow IE ships, as long as they are not greatly outnumbered (around 1:13 in case of Tsuki MkIIIb), to repair most damage in mids of combat, especially that of spaced armor and outer systems.

The latest addition to Izuki is "Loria", a grade VIE capital ship combat AI designed specifically for the Tsuki, Riran and the future IE BB/CVB/CVF.
