You should already know about Earthlings; you are more than likely one of them, after all. The important thing to explain is their history and how they fit into all of this. For more information about humans in general, start by looking at that link.

They're found primarily in sector 70 but also a bit in surrounding sectors and other areas of the UNT. However, coming from only one planet they don't have a very large population yet compared to many other races, but their population and influence is steadily growing.

History[]

Humans originated from Earth, or so the Earthings believed, which is not correct. Upon their entrance into the Andreemea Galaxy they quickly found out that there were other beings who looked exactly like them, or with some minor differences caused by adaptions to their planets. There's still some who believe this to be a coincidence, or perhaps the humanoid form is a preferred method of evolution, etc. However, this is not entirely the case. Earthlings were technically from Earth all along, but their design was borrowed from the humans of the Andreemea Galaxy. A being from a race that some consider to be Gods (also known as High Beings) named Gaeha was in exile from the Andreemea Galaxy, sent to the then empty of intelligent life Milky Way Galaxy. She had no way to travel back to her own galaxy by her own power so she needed something to help do this for her. That something was mankind. The seeds of life were already on Earth at the time; Gaeha just need to influence the natural course of things to bring about a working "prototype" of what she remembered humans to be like. It took a long time and some luck, but eventually humans did come about as she had desired.

At first she couldn't verbally communicate with them at all, but she slowly got better at it over time. She eventually appeared less and less in the public eye and instead focused on behind the scenes manipulation, entering into the minds of scientists to give them brilliant new ideas to speed their way into powerful space travelling technology. Under her influence they "happened" to run into the warp hole on the fated space mission that lead them, and her, into the Andreemea Galaxy. The others of her race sensed her return, but that was as far as it went and she was able to remain in hiding from them in her human body. She disappeared almost entirely from the public eyes of the humans at this point so her exact whereabouts are unknown to a vast majority of them. Still, it's highly likely she's still watching over them to some extent.

The Earthlings first met those of the Ker'char'or clan of the Inorr race, having a tense first encounter that changed into a close alliance once the matter was settled and it was clear that the Earthlings weren't enemy spies sent to secretly infiltrate their territory of Sector 70.

Earthlings, to better compete with the aliens of this galaxy, joined together to form a single alliance called the Grand Union of Earth, abbreviated G.U.E. Any country on Earth was invited to take part in this expedition by giving up their nationality to join this single alliance. They were even able to put aside their differences to found the planet of New Terra together, their second home world serving as their base of operations while inside Andreemea. Some Earthlings even went so far as to now only consider themselves to be New Terran, further distancing themselves from the struggles found back on Earth between the nations that still had trouble cooperating with one another outside of this.

Changes From Our Earth[]

Religion was largely effected as a result of the high being Gaeha being involved in our upbringing. Although different religions still exist, they don't hold nearly as much prevalence in society and people are more likely to worship Gaeha in a religion called Gaenism, which achieved the spot of most prevalent religion even as Gaeha faded from the public eye as time went on. This lead to a butterfly effect that has foreseen and unforeseen changes, and there are too many to list them all. Important ones are as follows:

1. Native Americans were not all defeated and maintain a hold on the west side of north and central America.

2. WW2 was more of a stalemate. The Soviet Union didn't involve itself.

3. WW3 didn't involve nuclear weapons but devastated a ton of countries all the same. The world superpowers have almost all control over Earth and beyond, forcing others to either join one of them or fade into obscurity.

Earthling Superpowers[]

All races of Earth can be seen to some extent to be within the Grand Union of Earth, but they're still separated into major superpowers that banded together at one point or another (mostly after WW3) to maintain a competitive footing in the space race following the discovery of Andreemea. They are as follows from most powerful to least:

Soviet Union[]

They gained control over surrounding territories, including eastern European nations, during WW3. Afterwards they soundly thrashed the North American Alliance during the colonization of Andreemea despite being heavily outnumbered, solidifying their power in top spot as masters of the space race.

They have the most high tech and skilled fleet of the Earthlings that can fight off fleets twice their size. They also have very talented special forces. Their normal ground forces are about average.

China[]

They have the largest population size of any other alliance and even removed the one child per family law to grow even faster. They can overwhelm most other earthling alliances based on numbers alone, easily conscripting replacements to fill any void left behind by their losses while their opponents would be left reeling. They are at war with the Japanese Empire, and have been for some time.

They specialize in ground forces.

Japanese Empire[]

Having retained most of their gained territory during WW2 and further advances during WW3 all around the pacific and southeast asia, they are a force to be reckoned with. They managed to conquer Korea much earlier, with Koreans being the largest and most influential subgroup under the Japanese Empire name, but all subgroups have lost most of their own culture to become almost entirely Japanese. Despite being militaristic they were still influenced by the US so also have that side to them present in our timeline. They are at war with China, able to hold their ground due to superior technology and also a growing population.

European Alliance[]

Lead by France, Germany, Great Britain, and Italy, this group is made up of most other western European powers as well. Unlike most other superpowers, their power is not solidified under a single ruler and they sometimes bicker amongst themselves, weakening their overall effort. This directly lead them to loosing territory of eastern countries to the Soviet Union during WW3 and defeats in Africa.

North American Republic[]

Made up largely of Canada, the United States, Mexico, various Native American countries, and some Central American ones. The United States is known as the Faded Eagle, having lost a lot of it's former glory. They were in a large war with the Soviet Union but have since become more isolated following their crushing defeat.

Grand Arabian Emirates[]

Has much of the middle east and northern Africa under their control. They are relatively peaceful and prosperous in this timeline.

Indian Sultanate[]

They took over some of the eastern countries of the middle east but no further than Iran. They are highly militaristic and have been at odds with many other superpowers in the past, having mixed success.

Empire of Brazil[]

Has much of South America under their control and even some of Central America. A massive war broke out in south America during WW3 that had Brazil emerge as the dominant figure on the continent, sweeping aside resistance in a violent struggle.

African Empire[]

Uniting most of central and southern Africa under their reign, they were able to repel most foreign invaders.
